Independent Nat’l Com. on Human Rights condemns violence…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Independent National Commission on Human Rights (INCHR) has condemned the unwholesome act of violence meted against Christopher Sivili.

In a release issued recently, the INCHR called on the Liberian Government to carry out an immediate investigation, and hold perpetrators accountable.

In a well circulated video on the social media, 22 year-old Christopher Sivili was seen being mobbed, tortured and stripped naked by some youth believed to be members of the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) and Collaborating Political Parties (COP).

The incident happened near the Embassy of the United States near Monrovia.

The INCHR wonders why state security did not move in, when the act of violence streamed live on various social media platforms.

Christopher Sivili is a member of the Central Committee of the University of Liberia based Student Unification Party (SUP).
