House of Rep. passes restated Nat’l Budget

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The House Representatives has passed the restated National Budget at eight-hundred-sixty-point-five United States Dollars.

The House took the decision Thursday, July 7, 2020, following a reading of the President’s communication accompanying the restated budget to the National Legislature.

According to the President’s communication, the restatement was triggered by the need to address urgent and unforeseen national expenditure demands.

The restated budget reflects a net upward adjustment of twenty-million, representing two-point-nine percent of the originally approved budget of seven-hundred-eighty-five-million dollars.

Following a motion by Montserrado County District-Eight Representative, Acarous Gray, the restated budget was passed and sent to the Liberian Senate for Concurrence.
