Liberia to benefit from US Feed the Future Program

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberia is expected to benefit from the United States Government’s global hunger and food security initiative.

It followed announcement made by President Joe Biden at the G7 Leaders’ Summit in Germany, the US is expanding its Feed the Future program to reach new countries.

President Biden believes that the expansion will mitigate the impacts of recent shocks to global food security and nutrition.

The expansion targets eight new countries: Liberia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Madagascar, Malawi, Mozambique, Rwanda, Tanzania and Zambia.

Feed the Future programming responds to each country’s level of need and harnesses the power of agriculture to drive economic growth and transforms food systems.

Liberia, as a new Feed the Future target country, wil benefit direct USAID technical assistance and policy support through the Ministry of Agriculture.
