Ivorian Refugees Praise Liberian Hospitability

Monrovia June 20, 2022 – Ivorian Refugees at the PTP Camp in Grand Gedeh County have praised Liberians and the government for the hospitality and love shown them over the years.

Liberia has been providing safe havens as a host country for thousands of Ivorian Refugees since their post-election conflict in 2010.

The government has since built housing units at the PTP Camp and other camps in the Southeast for Ivorian refugees who have opted to stay in Liberia.

Their commendation comes as Liberia joined other countries around the World in celebrating World Refugees Day.

World Refugee Day is an international day designated on June 20 each year by the United Nations to honor refugees around the World.

It is also occasion to build empathy and understanding for refugees’ plight and to recognize their resilience in rebuilding their lives.
