Dr. McIntosh says he is not member of Unity Party

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberian Politician and Diplomat, Dr. Togar McIntosh, has clarified that he is not a member of the opposition Unity Party (UP).

Dr. McIntosh said he resigned from the UP since 2016, prior to the last General and Presidential Elections.

He told EL BC  on Wednesday, May 11,2022, that he is currently a member of the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) Governing Council.

Ambassador McIntosh, at the same time, disclosed that he declined his recent nomination as Chairperson of the Governance Commission, because he wants to be an active participant in next year‘s Presidential and Legislative Elections.

According to him, he was not consulted before his name was announced by the Executive Mansion to serve as Chairman of the Commission.

Dr. McIntosh said:” I wondered why some politicians and the media will spread rumors about such matters, without contacting him for clarity.”

The CDC Governing Council Member maintained that he is still building consultations on his role in the 2023 elections, and at the appropriate time the public will be notified.
