MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Associate Justice Jamesetta Howard Wolokollie has mandated all parties in the indictment case of the National Elections Commission (NSC) Chairperson to appear for legal conference on Monday, before taking any decision on the matter.

Justice Wolokollie’s mandate followed a stay order placed on Criminal Court ‘C’ Judge Ciafa Carey’s ruling seeking to drop charges against the NEC Chairperson.

Madam Davidetta Brown-Lansanah was indicted on multiple charges relating to the corruption at the Commission.

The Associate Justice also ordered Judge Carey to stop all legal proceedings of the case.

The action by Justice Wolokollie is a result of a recent petition from the Liberia Anti-Corruption Corruption (LACC) for a writ of prohibition to pre vent Judge Carey from ruling in the motion to dismiss the corruption charges against the NEC Chairperson.

The Chief Prosecutor of the LACC, Cllr. Jerry Garlawolo, in the petition said Judge Carey’s jurisdiction over the case has since ended on April 18, 2022, and that he cannot rule into the matter consistent with law.
