MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah has assured the citizenry that the price of rice will never go up in the Country.

President Weah said:” Given that rice is the Country’s staple food, the Government will do all it can to make it available and affordable.”

The Liberian Leader was speaking Wednesday, April 6, 2022, during tour of rice warehouses at the Free Port of Monrovia.

He noted that he had gone to the Free Port personally to verify the quantity of rice in stock, given media reports about shortage in the Country.

According to the Liberian Leader, he has got assurances from major rice importers that rice will always be available in the Country, at all times.

Meanwhile, President Weah is warning the local media to always verify information, before putting it out to the public.
