US Gov’t presents historical artifacts to Liberia

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The United States Government, through its Embassy, has turned over several historical artifacts, including iconic pictures to the National Museum in Monrovia.

US Ambassador Michael McCarthy made the presentation on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at a formal program held at the National Museum.

Ambassador McCarthy said:” The presentation is intended to help Liberia preserve its history and culture for generations unborn.”

According to him, the US looks forward to supporting Liberia protect historical sites like the Providence Island and share archival experiences.

He said such partnership will be enhanced through the US Ambassador Funds for Culture Preservation.

In response, Information Minister Ledgerhood Rennie, on behalf of the Liberian Government,  received the items and lauded the US Government for the presentation.

Minister Rennie said the materials will go a long way in telling the history of Liberia for years to come.
