Gov’t in talks with petroleum importers over petroleum products…..

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Government of Liberia is locked in talks with petroleum importers amid reported increase in the price of gasoline and fuel.

The Government’s efforts are being led by the Ministry of Commerce, the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC) and other relevant agencies.

A MICAT statement said the move is to ensure an adjustment in the pump price of diesel fuel and gasoline, in line with the current trend on the international market.

The Government also wants to ensure that petroleum products are available on the local market, while, at the same time, avoiding potential loss to importers.

The statement maintained that there are adequate petroleum products in the Country to serve the Liberian market for several months.
