World Bank to help upgrade Mount Coffee Hydro Plant

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The World Bank has committed critical resources to upgrade the Mount Coffee Hydro Plant.

The World Bank is considering installing a 20 megawatts solar capacity at the hydro to boost the current aptitude of the plant.

Finance Minister Samuel Tweah made the disclosure on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, on ELBC Super Morning Show.

Minister Tweah said:” The planned move by the World Bank will make up for the low output at the hydro usually occasioned by the dry season.”

He expressed the hope that the project will be completed and commissioned in eighteen months to solve the energy problem Liberians often experience during the dry season.
