GRAND KRU COUNTY, LIBERIA-Citizens of Barclayville, in Grand Kru County, are calling on authorities of the National Identification Registry (NIR) to reopen their local office to the public.

The citizens told ELBC Grand Kru County Correspondent that office has been closed since 2020.

They told ELBC that they are now paying about eight-thousand Liberian Dollars for transportation to Maryland County to take a National Identification Card that costs just five US Dollars.

Some said since they paid for their cards in 2020, they are yet to receive them.

Meanwhile, the Head of the NIR Team in Barclayville, Edward Motee, said their withdrawal is due to the low flow of clients at the entity’s office in the County.
