MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The United States President, Joe Biden, has announced the designation of a Presidential Delegation to the launch of Liberia’s Bicentennial Celebrations on February 14.

The Bicentennial marks the arrival of Freed Black Americans at the Providence Island in 1822, which led to the establishment of the City of Monrovia, and in 1847, the Republic of Liberia.

The White House has named Linda Thomas-Greenfield, US Ambassador to the United Nations as Head of the US Delegation.

According to the White House release issued recently, others include US Ambassador to Liberia, Michael McCarthy, Dana Banks, Special Assistant to the President, and Senior Director for Africa and National Security Council.

The release also named Mr. Lonnie Bunch, III, Secretary of the Smithsonian Institute, Rev. Dr. Jefferson-Snorton, Bishop of the Fifth Episcopal District of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church and Chair of the Governing Board, National Council of Churches in the United States.
