MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The United States Government has praised Liberia for its stable democracy.

The commendation was contained in the US State Department statement, congratulating Liberia on its Bicentennial.

The State Department described Liberia as a stable democracy in West Africa, and an important partner of the United States.

While commemorating Liberia on the commemoration of the Bicentennial of the arrival of American settlers, the US Government also highlighted the ethnic and cultural diversity of the Country’s indigenous population.

It said as two of the oldest continuous Republics in the world, the United States and Liberia shared a unique history, paired with common democratic values.
