World Bank, Partners launch $40 Million Water and Sewer Project

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The World Bank and the Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation (LWSC) have launched a project, aimed at improving infrastructure and operational services at the entity.

The Senior Water Supply and Sanitation Specialist of the World Bank, Gerhardus Soppe, said:” The one-hundred-day project is in the tune of forty- million United States Dollars.”

Recounting the challenges confronting the LWSC, Mr. Soppe said:” The project will enhance operational performance and boost revenue generation.”

For his part, the Managing Director of the LWSC, Duannah Kamara, lauded the World Bank and rallied the support of employees to achieve the goals of the project.

Mr. Kamara added that punitive actions will be taken against anyone caught undermining the project.
