Gov. provides $1million to begin implementing projects from President Weah’s County Tour

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian Government has provided $1(m) million to implement projects emanating from President George Weah’s recent County tour.

Government provided the money through the Ministry of Finance, as a demonstration of its commitment to implementing project promised by the Liberian Leader.

According to a MICAT release, the money will progressively accelerate the implementation of the President’s developmental commitment to the people of the Country.

During the County Tour, President Weah received several petitions from Liberians in the counties, and promised to address their socio-economic and infrastructural development needs.

According to a release issued Tuesday, November 30, 2021, there are over four-hundred projects across the Country to be undertaken, in order to achieve fiscal and infrastructural decentralization of the Country’s resources to benefit rural Liberians.

Projects to be implemented include roads, hospitals, clinics, schools, TVET centers, market buildings, city halls, youth centers, and Pro-Poor housing construction.

Meanwhile, the projects, implemented by LACE, began November 20, 2021, and expected to be completed in March 2022.
