Weala Public Sch. in deplorable condition

WEALA, MARGIBI, LIBERIA-An ELBC investigation has reviewed that the only public school in Weala, Margibi County, is in a deplorable condition ahead of the opening of the new school year.

According to the investigation, the school lacks arm chairs, benches, library and other instructional materials.

The investigation also reviews the inadequacy of teachers, as the   few who taught last academic year are yet to be placed on Government Payroll.

Our Reporter who toured the school facility over the weekend said:” Not only has the grass overgrown the school campus, but the roof is leaking, thus damaging the ceilings in the classrooms.”

The situation, if not addressed properly, would result to no instructional activities at the school this academic year.

A resident of Weala, Douglas Soko, told ELBC that the school has been practically abandoned by local authorities and the Ministry of Education.

Mr. Soko made an appeal to the Minister of State to use his office in order to respond to the condition of the school.

Meanwhile, there has been no reaction from the Ministry of Education regarding the situation
