Addressing gender issues is crucial-Deputy Gender Minister Johnson-Howard

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Deputy Gender Minister, Alice Johnson-Howard, says addressing gender inequality is crucial in every sphere of human society.

Minister Howard said:” It is crucial, because the issue of gender looks at how social norms and power structures can impact the available opportunities of men and women.”

She, however, said once the issue of inequality is addressed, it will stimulate economic and political growth between the two genders.

Minister Howard spoke over the weekend, in Monrovia, at a two day Gender Based Violence Stakeholders Review on the existing protocols and policies.

Also speaking, the Executive Director of FIND, Aaron Juakollie, said:” The gathering is aimed at helping government mitigate the prevalent issue of gender based violence in Liberia.”

The stakeholders review gathering is being organized by Foundation for International Dignity (FIND).
