Pres. Weah’s meeting with United States President was on schedule-Deputy Presidential Press Sec. Toby

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Executive Mansion has clarified that President George Weah’s meeting with the United States President, Joe Biden, was on schedule.

The announcement of the meeting and released of photos sparked criticisms from some quarters, with some opposition figures suggesting that it was a mere photo opportunity.

Speaking to ELBC Friday, November 5, 2021, Deputy Presidential Press Secretary Smith Toby said:” Arrangements were in place for the two leaders to meet at the Climate Change Conference in Glasgow, Scotland.”

Mr. Toby said the meeting between Presidents Weah and Biden took place during the signing of the Climate Commitment by World Leaders.

President Weah is now in France to participate in the Paris Peace Forum and activities marking the Seventy Fifth Anniversary of UNESCO
