LACC says ongoing risk assessment of gov’t institutions is not a corruption investigation

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission has clarified that ongoing Corruption Risk Assessment of various government Ministries and Agencies does not amount to full-scale investigation.

LACC Executive Chairperson Cllr. Edwin Klah Martin said the corruption risk assessment is intended to test the capacity of institutions in responding quickly to incidents of fraud in the system.

Cllr. Martin also reminded public officials that the ongoing assessment is crucial to their operational independence.

He said such assessment is an important tool use around the world by Anti-graft institutions to fight corruption proactively.
