MARYLAND COUNTY, LIBERIA-Police in Maryland County have jailed a thirty-six year old man for allegedly chopping his wife with a cutlass, while in bed.

The incident happened over the weekend in Barriken, Pleebo Sodoken District.

ELBC Lower Maryland County correspondent quotes community dwellers as saying suspect Francis Taylor chopped his wife on the hand and back for refusing to have sexual intercourse with him.

According to our Correspondent, the victim is undergoing treatment at the JJ Dossen Hospital in Harper, while the suspect is currently in jail at the Rivergee Central Prison awaiting court trial.

Meanwhile, the Gender Coordinator of Maryland County, Sayennoh David, told our Correspondent that she will ensure that the lady is given proper treatment.
