Labor Ministry threatens to fine ArcelorMittal-Liberia if……

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Ministry of Labor has threatened to take action against the Management of ArcelorMittal-Liberia, if it fails to pay aggrieved workers their benefits by 12: noon, October 8, 2021.

Labor Minister Charles Gibson said:” We will fine the Management of ArcelorMittal-Liberia twenty-five-thousand United States Dollars should it fail to do so.”

Minister Gibson maintained that if the Management defaults on the payment, the Ministry will also impose a fine of five-thousand US Dollars for every additional day.

The Ministry’s mandate was contained in a ruling rendered by Minister Gibson in a press conference Thursday, October 7, 2021, in Monrovia.
