VP Howard-Taylor hails UN for restoring peace and democratic institutions in Liberia

MONROVIA, LIBERIA – Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor has expressed gratitude to the United Nations for its crucial role in restoring peace and stability to Liberia following years of civil war.

Vice President Taylor described Liberia as a peaceful and friendly nation that is determined to uphold the values and principles of the United Nations.

The Vice President spoke Monday, September 4, 2021, at her Capitol Building Office when she received in audience the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Liberia Ambassador Neil Scott.

Madam Taylor stressed the need for more support from the United Nations to empower and enhance women’s participation in the country’s governance process.

Earlier Ambassador Neil Scott reiterated the United Nations’ commitment to supporting Liberia in its drive to enhance peace, security, good governance, development, and the promotion of human rights.
