Press Union praises Gov’t for cordial working relationship

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The President of the Press Union of Liberia (PUL) has lauded the harmonious relationship between the media and the Liberian Government.

PUL President Charles Coffey said:” Such relationship has resulted to the repealing of some draconian laws that were not media friendly.”

Mr. Coffey lauded the Government of President George Weah for repealing laws such as sedition and criminal libel against President.

The PUL President was speaking on Thursday, September 16, 2021, at MICAT’s Press Briefing, ahead of the Union’s 57th Anniversary celebration slated for September 30, 2021, in Voinjama, Lofa County.

Mr. Coffey said all is now set for journalists to converge in Lofa to participate in activities of the anniversary celebration.

The activities include reporting trip across the county, ahead of a parade through the principal streets of Voinjama and an official indoor program on Monday.
