MONROVIA, LIBERIA – Former Vice President, Joseph N. Boakai has been endorsed Standard Bearer of the Unity Party (UP) to contest the upcoming convention of the Collaborating Political Party (CPP).

Ambassador Boakai was endorsed Saturday, September 11, 2021, with his name forwarded to the CPP as the candidate.

The CPP has requested all four constituent political parties interested in participating in the upcoming convention to submit the name of their respective candidates.

In his acceptance speech, Ambassador Joseph N. Boakai pledged to justify the confidence response in him by working in the interest of UP, CPP and the entire citizenry.

Meanwhile, UP said Mr. Boakai was elected for a six-year term as Standard Bearer and his tenure has not expired as yet.

They argued that because of this, he is automatically qualifies as UP Standard Bearer and candidate for the CPP Convention.
