Pres. Weah mandates Health, Justice Ministers to frame new guidelines, protocols to help curb COVID-19 spread

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah has mandated the Ministers of Health and Justice to immediately formulate new regulations and protocols, in helping to curb the spread of the Coronavirus.

President Weah said the new measures and protocols will be announced within the coming hours.

Addressing the nation on Thursday, June 17, 2021, President Weah urged citizens and foreign residents to abide by the new protocols.

The Liberian Leader said the measures, when announced, will be enforced by the security forces where necessary.

President Weah said:” The Liberian Government is about to once again take some hard decisions, which could curtail some everyday freedoms for the common good and wellbeing of all.”

Meanwhile, the Liberian Chief Executive has lauded the efforts of bilateral and multi-lateral partners, for their continued support and partnership to curbing the Coronavirus.

President Weah acknowledged the dedication and resilience of the Country’s gallant health workers, especially those in the front line in the fight against this deadly disease.
