MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah has been officially informed about a new variant of the Coronavirus in Liberia.

President Weah was informed on Monday, June 14, 2021, at a meeting attended by experts of the Incident Management System in Monrovia.

Deputy Presidential Press Secretary, Smith Toby, made the disclosure Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at the Executive Mansion weekly press briefing.

Mr. Smith said:” The President was briefed through power point presentations by Health Minister Wilhelmina Jallah, and key recommendations from the meeting was increasing and enforcing the health protocols.”

Meanwhile, Assistant Health Minister for Vital Statistics, Sanford Wesseh, said the increased in cases is attributed to non-cooperation and total regard for health measures, among others.
