House of Representatives endorsed postponement of Population Census from 2021-2022

MONROVIA, LIBERIA – The House of Representatives has endorsed the postponement of the Population and Housing Census from March 3, 2021, to March 20, 2022.

According to ELBC Reporter, Plenary took the decision Thursday, June 10, 2021, following report from its Joint Committee on Good Governance and Judiciary.

Our Reporter said prior to the committee’s recommendation, President Goerge Weah, requested legislative approval for the extension.

The Joint Committee added that the necessary requirements are being met to avoid further extension, referencing the ongoing mapping process.

Meanwhile, the instrument is expected to be forwarded to the Liberian Senate for concurrence.
