Mano River Union Security Actors adopt Communiqué to address security threats…..

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Senior Security Actors in the Mano River Union have adopted a communiqué seeking to address the growing security threats in the basin.

The Communiqué developed by the Ministries of Defense and Chiefs of Defense Staff emphasized the urgent need to reactivate the Joint Security Committee of the Union.

At the just ended meeting held in Monrovia, the Actors also want the reactivation of the Technical Committee and the Joint Border Security and Confidence Building Units in the basin.

The Communiqué also called on the MRU Member States, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea, and Ivory Coast to ensure coordination at national levels and develop a sub-regional counter terrorism strategy in line with ECOWAS protocols.
