House fails to conduct sitting due to power outage

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The House of Representatives on Tuesday failed to conduct its regular sitting due to power outage.

According to ELBC Legislative Reporter, the body also failed to constitute a quorum, as majority of the representatives did not sure up for the session.

Our reporter said following roll call twice at the Tuesday, May11, 2021 sitting, the body still could not obtain the required thirty-seven members for deliberation in line with their rules.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Bhofal Chambers, regretted the electricity problem and said efforts were being applied to avoid recurrence.

Meanwhile, the body is expected to convene another regular sitting on Thursday, May 13, 2021.
