MONROVIA, LIBERIA – The Liberian Government, through the Ministry of Health, has released an updated COVID-19 travel protocol for passengers arriving in Liberia from high-risk countries.

A MICAT release said, under the new guidelines, all travelers from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Brazil will be required to undergo Mandatory Precautionary Observation upon arrival at an approved facility directly from the airport, due to the spike in cases in some Asian and South American Countries.

It added that this will be done at their own expense. The release further stated that all incoming travelers will also be required to present a negative Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) COVID-19 test result upon arrival at the Liberian airport.

The result must be from an accredited lab and must have been conducted within the last 96 hours, prior to arrival in Liberia.

It further noted that Travelers will also be required to show their flight itinerary upon arrival and anyone from the designated countries within the last 14 days will have to undergo the stipulations of the new protocol.

Travelers under precautionary observation will be tested on Day 7 after arrival.
