Buchanan to River Cess County-Road will be paved-Pres. Weah

RIVERCESS COUNTY, LIBERIA-President George Weah has assured the people of Rivercess County that the road from Buchanan to the County’s capital, Cestos City, will be paved.

President Weah then disclosed plans by the Liberian Government to properly layout Cestos City.

The Liberian leader gave the assurance on April 25, 2021, during a town hall meeting with the people of Rivercess in Cestos City.

He told them that the contract to layout the city has already being signed, and is expected to commence during the next dry season. The Liberian Chief Executive urged the people to be patient, as development is not an event but a process.

Rivercess County has struggled with development challenges over the years since it was established in 1985 by an act of the National Legislature.

President Weah, however, empathized with the people for poor infrastructure, and promised that Government will do all it can to undertake development projects in Rivercess County.

At the same time, Rivercess County Senator, Wellington Geevon-Smith, has assured President Weah of a cordial working relationship with the County Legislative Caucus.

Senator Smith said all members of the Caucus are ready to work with the Executive in the interest of the people.

According to him, the Caucus’ engagement with the Office of the President is geared towards transforming the state of the county’s infrastructure.

He stressed that the President’s maternal link with Rivercess County must be cherished and transformed into gains.
