COVID-19 AstraZeneca Vaccines are safe-Health Ministry

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Ministry of Health says the AstraZeneca COVID-19 Vaccines recently brought into the Country are safe.

In a recent statement, the Ministry of Health said:” The European Medicine Agency’s Risks Assessment Committee position has been that the vaccines’ benefits continue to outweigh its risks.”

The Ministry’s clarification was in reaction to a FrontPage Africa report claiming that the vaccines have been rejected by some European countries, due to side effects.

The Ministry said reports of such is only intended to undermine the national fight against the Coronavirus pandemic.

The Health Ministry also clarified that vaccination against COVID-19 will not reduce death from other causes.

It further said that as of March 9, 2021, over two-hundred-sixty-million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered and no death has been directly linked to the AstraZeneca Vaccines.

A release from the Health Ministry further advised Media Houses to often seek clarifications, and desist from running publications that undermine the national fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
