Pres. Weah breaks ground for Petroleum Storage Terminal

MARYLAND COUNTY, LIBERIA-President George Weah has broken grounds for the construction of a Petroleum Storage Terminal (PST) and a multi-purpose office complex at the Port of Harper in Maryland County.

The Port of Harper is the fourth and smallest Port in the Country.

At the groundbreaking ceremony Thursday, February 25, 2021, President Weah pledged Government’s support to the operations of the Port.

President Weah also stressed the need to dredge the Harper Port to accommodate bigger vessels.

Also speaking, National Port Authority (NPA) Managing Director, Bill Tweahway, put the cost of the project to Six-Million United States Dollars.

Mr. Tweahway said:” When completed in two years, the Petroleum Storage Terminal will help supply the Southeastern region.”
