Liberians to benefit US President Joe Biden’s Executive Order

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Thousands of Liberians are expected to benefit from an Executive Order issued by United States President, Joe Biden.

The extension of the Deferred Enforcement Departure (DED) is among several Executive Orders signed by the US President on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 upon taking the oath of office.

Thousands of Liberians who have lived in the Unites States on the DED status over the  years, can now stay until June 30, 202022.

The extension by President Biden also covers work authorization for Liberians under the Liberian Refugee Immigration Fairness (LRIF) Act. The previous DED deadline for Liberians expired since January 10, 2021.
