Pres. Weah states disappointment over terrible conditions of Public Schools…..

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah has expressed serious disappointment over the deplorable conditions of public schools within the Monrovia Consolidated School System (MCSS), including D.Tweh High School.

President Weah, therefore, gave 72 hours ultimatum to the Ministry of Education Authorities to replace the damaged ceiling at the D.Tweh High School in New Kru Town.

The President said:” MCSS schools lack better learning environment and basic learning materials for students.”

The Liberian Leader made the remarks on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, upon the completion of an assessment tour of MCSS schools in Monrovia.

According to ELBC Reporter, President Weah visited the William V.S. Tubman High School, Demonstration School, New Port Junior High School, Boatswain Junior High and the D. Tweh High School in New Kru Town.

President Weah said that it was totally unacceptable to see inadequate chairs, poor sanitation and leakages on the roofs of the schools.

At the same time, MCSS schools are to shortly benefit more than one-hundred-thousand arm chairs for students.

It followed the President’s one-day inspection of MCSS schools on Wednesday, January 13, 2021.

President Weah urged Authorities of the MCSS to work along with Finance Minister Samuel Tweah, to make sure the arm chairs are made available.

President Weah said:” The chairs will be equitably distributed among schools of the MCSS when made, to ease the sitting difficulties faced by the students.”

Speaking on behalf of the MCSS schools, Alacious Godo, thanked President Weah for the intervention.
