China donates medical supplies to Liberia

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Chinese Government has donated huge medical supplies to the Government of Liberia, to support its fight against Lassa fever.

The supplies include nine-hundred-ninety packs of Ribavirin injection, over one-thousand packs of Ribavirin tablets and several pieces of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs), among others.

According to a release issued Tuesday, January 12, 2021, the medical supplies are for use by the National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL).

Presenting the items Monday, January 11, 2021, Chinese Ambassador to Liberia, Ren Yisheng, said that it was his Government’s way of helping the Liberian Government treat patients of Lassa fever.

Ambassador Yisheng said:” The PPEs are expected to be used by public health workers who are fighting on the front line.”

Receiving the items, NPHIL Director General, Jane .McCauley, thanked the Chinese Government through the Chines Embassy in Monrovia for the quick response based on a former request from the institute.
