Striking Employees to receive salary arrears this week

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Striking workers of the Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation (LWSC) will begin receiving their salary arrears effective this week.

Recently, employees of the LWSC went on strike in demand of five months’ salary arrears.

A LWSC Statement says the employees will begin receiving their salaries following an intervention from the Liberian Government, through the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning.

The LWSC Statement is, meanwhile, appealing to all of its employees to return to work.

At the same time, LWSC is assuring the public and its many customers of its commitment to serving the common good of the people, and apologizes for the inconvenience the recent stalemate had caused.
