Pres. Weah is expected to address the Nation later today

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah is expected to address the Nation lately today.

According to Liberia’s Information Minister, Ledgerhood Rennie, the President’s address is expected to give hope and create calm ahead of the December 8, 2020, elections.

Liberians are expected to participate in three categories of elections on Tuesday: Senatorial election, Representatives By-elections in Montserrado County District Nine and District Two in Sinoe County; and election on National Referendum.

Meanwhile, the Information Minister disclosed the arrest of ten persons in connection with electoral violence that resulted to the burning of two cars belonging to a Collaborating Political Parties (CPP) Candidate in Porkpar, Grand Cape Mount County.

Minister Rennie said:” Government remains committed to providing security, and will tolerate any acts of violence.”

In another development, Information Minister Rennie said:” The Liberia National Police (LNP) is expected to shortly release findings into circumstances surrounding the death of the Police Regional Commander, Alex Saye, in Grand Gedeh County.”

The Information Minister made the disclosure on Monday, December 7, 2020, in an ELBC interview.
