Findings from Study Aimed At Reducing Bureaucracy At The Free Port to Be Released

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-A time release study aimed at discovering and reducing the bureaucracy at the Free Port of Monrovia is expected to be completed soon.

The Officer-in-Charge of Customs Modernization at the Liberia Revenue Authority, William Gegeh said:” The study also seeks to improve trade flow, as well as improve efficiency and effectiveness in clearing procedures.”

Mr. Gegeh said the study began last year and will be completed in October this year.

Meanwhile, the Acting President of the Customs Brokers Association of Liberia, James Hinneh, said the time release study will provide the necessary recommendations to ease the clearing of goods at the port.

He noted that the study will also ensure that there is improved time in clearing of goods and enhancing trade facilitation.

The two individuals spoke Tuesday, August 25, 2020, in an ELBC interview.                      By Daniel Ankrah
