Gov. intervenes to resolve land dispute, strengthen Security Sector in Grand Cape Mount County

GRAND CAPE MOUNT COUNTY, LIBERIA-The Liberian Government, with support from the United States Government, has begun making interventions to resolve land dispute and strengthen the security sector in Grand Cape Mount County.

The Liberian Government, with funding from its United States counterpart, has trained several actors and set-up structures in communities in the County to manage land dispute and support the Security Sector.

ELBC Grand Cape Mount County Correspondent says various community authorities will now begin intervening in land disputes.

According to our correspondent, the project was initiated by the Government of Liberia and for the past two years, trained the Superintendent of the County, District Commissioners and Police Commanders, among others, to resolve land dispute.

Our correspondent said a major aim of the project is to utilize the community structures to reduce land cases on court dockets, and minimize ongoing domestic cases at police stations.
