Pres. Weah submits Electrification Loan Agreement for ratification

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah has submitted to the House of Representatives for ratification, a loan agreement between Liberia and the African Development Fund (ADF).

The Renewable Energy for Electrification in Liberia Project was signed on January 29, 2020, between the Liberian Government and the ADF.

According to the communication, the Agreement is intended to develop a hydro-power plant on the St. Paul River in Nimba County.

The project worth over 5.9 United States Dollars will provide reliable electricity and improve the socio-economic conditions of the people in the project area.

Meanwhile, the bill has been forwarded to the House of Representatives Ways and Means and Judiciary Committees to report within two weeks.
