Amb. Brown Calls for Stronger UN-Regional Partnerships

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN), Ambassador Lewis Brown, has called for stronger UN-regional partnerships to advance international peace and security.

Speaking over the weekend at a UN Security Council meeting in New York, the United States of America, Ambassador Brown emphasized the need for regional collaboration and mediation to address political tensions and transnational threats.

He stressed the importance of empowering regional partners for decisive action and extending beyond crisis management to prevent conflicts.

The Liberian envoy highlighted the necessity of burden-sharing, effective multilateralism, and deliberate partnerships that combine local knowledge, regional engagement, and international collaboration.

The goal, he said, is to prevent future conflicts by strengthening current partnerships and measuring success by the number of conflicts prevented.
