MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The office of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) in Liberia has confirmed the payment of examination fees for twelve grad students by the Liberian Government.
Disclosing on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at the Ministry of Information Press Briefing, WAEC-Liberia Head, Dale Gbotoe, said,” Over fifty-seven thousand twelve graders are expected to sit the national exam”.
Gbotoe emphasized that no twelfth-grade student is required to pay any examination fees, warning schools against illegal collection of money from candidates.
He added that over fifty-five thousand ninth-grade students have registered, with the government paying for those in public schools, while parents are responsible for fees at the sixth and third grade levels.
The WAEC boss also disclosed that the government has made additional payments toward outstanding debts owed to the institution.
