GRAND CAPE MOUNT COUNTY, LIBERIA-Vice President Jeremiah Koung has promised to rally President Joseph Boakai’s support to the Gbassa-Jama Festival in the coming years.
Speaking at the maiden edition of the program over the weekend in Robertsport City, Grand Cape Mount County, Vice President Koung thanked the residents for organizing themselves in such a unique way.
VP Koung urged the citizens to open up and provide land space to those wanting to invest in the infrastructure of the county.
The Gbassa-Jama Festival is a traditional event that aims to showcase how cassava leaf dishes are prepared by the inhabitants.
Meanwhile, Boakai Jaleba, the Chief Organizer of the Festival, told ELBC afterwards that the success of the program was a result of joint efforts by citizens and stakeholders.
Jaleba added that they envisage hosting the program annually in order to expose the county’s tradition and tourism potentials.
