Nat’l Teacher Asso. of Liberia Calls Report of Its Alleged Sanctioned Account a Distraction

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Teachers Association of Liberia says the recent announcement aired by some individuals on ELBC Radio, that its account had been sanctioned by a court order, is a distraction, and does not reflect the true status of the Association.

In a statement on Monday, March 30, 2026, the Association’s President, Mary Nyumah, clarified that the individuals responsible for such claims are not current members of the National Executive Council.

Madam Nyumah said,” The removal of the individuals in question followed due process and was ratified at the 66th National Convention in Voinjama, since 2022”.

She maintained that the Convention is the Association’s highest decision-making body, and, as such, the current leadership remains legitimate and fully operational.

Madam Nyumah stressed that those making claims on the radio do not have the authority to interfere with the activities of the NTAL. She called on members of the Association to remain calm as the matter is before the court and will be resolved through the legal process.
