MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The leadership of the House of Representatives has placed on its agenda a communication seeking the possible expulsion of Montserrado County District Ten Representative, Yekeh Kolubah.
The move followed recent remarks by Representative Kolubah claiming that the disputed land along the Liberia-Guinea border in Lofa County belongs to Guinea.
Some members of the House believe that the statement could heighten tensions, given the sensitive nature of the ongoing border situation.
Article 38 of the Liberian Constitution empowers each House to adopt its own rules, maintain order, and, with a two-thirds majority, expel a member for cause.
It remains unclear when the matter will be acted upon, as lawmakers are currently on a constituency break.
