MARGIBI COUNTY, LIBERIA-The Government of Liberia and partners have begun the 2026 National Fisheries Investment Conference in Lower Margibi County.
The conference, organized by the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority (NaFAA), is being held under the theme:” Unlocking Blue Horizons, the Future of Fisheries and the Blue Economy”.
The conference aims to promote fisheries and the blue economy as key drivers of inclusive economic growth, job creation, and sustainable development in Liberia.
It is intended to showcase Liberia’s fisheries, aquaculture, and blue economy investment opportunities to national, regional, and international investors.
The two-day event is being attended by President Joseph Boakai, government officials, and international guests from Ghana, Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Morocco, Senegal, and other parts of the world.

He said,” The instruments will propel economic growth and reposition the Fishery Industry”.
The President said the government remains committed to forging partnerships that build local capacity and develop for environmental standards”.
Also speaking, Agriculture Minister Alexander Nuetah described fisheries as a catalyst for economic growth and sustainability.
