Criminal Court ‘C’ Sentences Int’l Bank Liberia Limited to Three Years Six Months Imprisonment

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Criminal Court ‘C’ has sentenced an employee of the International Bank Liberia Limited to three years and six months imprisonment at the Monrovia Central Prison.

This followed defendant Tito Carpee’s conviction by the trial jurors for stealing fifty thousand U.S. Dollars from the Bank following a week-long legal battle.

Judge Ousman Feika’s March 24 final judgement, according to ELBC Judicial Reporter, also ordered defendant Carpee to restitute the full amount stolen.

Our reporter said his criminal appearance bond was set aside and ordered imprisoned, pending the outcome of his appeal process.

Before the Court’s judgment, defendant Tito Carpee was pronounced guilty on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, by the Trial Jurors of Criminal Court ‘C’.

The jurors’ verdict claimed that the weight of evidence adduced by state lawyers during the trial was convincing to convict defendant Carpee on charges of theft of property, criminal conspiracy, and criminal facilitation.

But defendant Tito Carpee’s lawyer took an exception to the juror’s verdict and announced an appeal to the Supreme Court of Liberia.
