MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Education Minister Jarso Jallah says National Decoration Day should remind citizens to preserve peace, strengthen democratic institutions, and protect national unity across Liberia.
Speaking during Decoration Day observance, the minister said,” Remembering citizens who died during periods of national conflict reminds Liberians to safeguard peace”.
Minister Jallah noted Liberia’s history reflects courage, resilience, struggle, and sacrifice, explaining that generations served through teaching, leadership, community service, and institution-building.
She also highlighted contributions of Mary Antoinette Brown-Sherman and Fatima Massaquoi-Fahnbulleh, whose dedication strengthened education and intellectual life in Liberia.
The MOE boss added that honoring those remembered today should inspire Liberians to strengthen schools, support teachers, and prepare younger generations to lead responsibly.
