MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Richard Koon, has constituted a specialized committee to review all concession agreements across the country.

According to Speaker Koon, the initiative is intended to ensure that existing agreements are updated to reflect present-day realities and align with national development priorities.

He tasked the committee to conduct a thorough and robust assessment of the country’s mineral and mining laws to strengthen transparency and accountability in the sector.

Speaker Koon assured that the committee will receive the necessary support to carry out its mandate, adding that its recommendations will be forwarded to the Office of the President for further action.

Meanwhile, Nimba County District Four Representative, Ernest Manseah, has been named Chairman of the committee.
